Following residents’ dissatisfaction, complaints and comments on certain aspects of the gardening service LYHA is now looking closely at how this vital service can be enhanced to ensure that LYHA estates and schemes remain a “cut above the rest”.
LYHA carried out a road show in June, “pitching up” at the Elmetes, Spring Valley and St Ann’s to find out if residents would consider changes to their gardening service, including a proposal for LYHA gardeners to be employed on all estates with communal areas.
The road show starts the consultation which will continue throughout summer. It will help LYHA make key decisions before the planned retendering of the external gardening contract that covers many LYHA schemes and is due for renewal later in 2010.
The summer ‘road show’ is part of LYHAs ongoing commitment to consult with residents before making important service changes.
LYHA would like to thank the 17% of households on the three larger estates who came along to our blue canopy on Friday 25 June and Saturday 26 June. Over the next couple of months LYHA will give the opportunity to all residents paying for a gardening survey carried out by an external contractor to have their say. A short postal survey will be sent out to these residents.
