FUN ACTIVITIES COMMENCING SOON IN EAST LEEDS FOR YOUNGER RESIDENTS Image

Starting 4pm on Thursday 29 July 2010 younger residents at the Elmetes in Leeds are invited to take part in a weekly programme of community activities as part of an ongoing Junior Warden Scheme on their estate.

Any LYHA resident aged between eight and 13 years old can attend the ten week programme of free fun activities. The sessions will last for two hours each week and are organised by Groundwork Leeds and LYHA to provide children with an opportunity to make positive changes in their local community.

Last year Elmetes Junior Wardens designed local sculptures for their estate, planted daffodil bulbs, carried out a clean-up of their local beck and were rewarded with a trip to Xscape in Castleford.  For more details about the Elmetes Junior Warden Scheme or to register your child’s name then please contact 0113 2783335 ext 243 or email at richard.vandermark@lyha.co.uk

A similar Junior Warden Scheme will commence at the Spring Valley estate in September. More details to follow.
