Housing associations exist to ensure everyone in the country can live in a quality home that they can afford. The history of Leeds and Yorkshire Housing Association is an amalgamation of four housing associations which were set up in response to various types of housing need (see the about us section of our website for more on this). These original values are still very much part of what we do and will continue to do in the future.
This is why we are continuing to invest in affordable homes and have planned to build 88+ new homes in 2016, including 27 for shared ownership. We believe that everyone should live in a quality home that they can afford, and this is what Leeds and Yorkshire Housing Association and other housing associations across the country are striving – and will continue to strive – for. We are owning our future!
The National Housing Federation has released a brilliant video demonstrating that all housing associations exist for this purpose, and is well worth a watch. You can see it here.
