Repairs: Your responsibilities

LYHA is responsible for maintaining the structure and the outside of your home, as well as carrying out repairs relating to water, gas, wiring, heating, drains, power and light fittings. However, there are also certain responsibilities that you have as a customer. 

These include:

Your responsibility:
  • Replacing lost or broken locks and keys
  • Gaining entry if you are locked out
  • Replacing broken or cracked glass in windows or doors
  • Cleaning windows (we provide this at some locations as part of our communal service)
  • Fitting and replacing door fittings such as knockers, handles and letterboxes
  • Repairing or replacing handles, catches or knobs on kitchen cupboards

Our responsibility:

  • Repairs to communal areas
  • Anything to do with the structure and outside parts of your home
  • Problems with water, gas pipes, wiring, heating systems, drains, power and light fittings
  • Garden fences, walls and gates that border public roads or footpaths
  • Garages
  • Paved areas (outside)
